Border Prayer Room Project / Offa’s Dyke Walk

Health and Safety Statement.

Daphne Godwin will be walking Offa’s Dyke between 14th and 28th May and people are welcome to join her for as much or as little of the walk as they wish. Daphne cannot, however, assume responsibility for those walking with her, and those who would like to take part in the Offa’s Dyke walk will be doing so at their own risk.

Please note that all walkers will need to be personally responsible for their own well being. This would include all equipment (maps, compass, GPS, mobile phone etc), suitable clothing (including footwear), sufficient food & drink, medical & safety equipment and a level of health suitable for the part of the walk they are intending to participate in.

A walking pace will be set that allows the walkers doing the whole prayer walk to meet the requirements of each day’s schedule, so that the walk is completed in the 14 day allotted period. All walkers joining any part of the walk should make sure that they are of a sufficient level of good health and fitness appropriate to the demands of walking Offa’s Dyke at a brisk pace.

Daphne may not be able to stop for more than a few minutes for someone experiencing difficulties, and all walkers should make their own arrangements for being transported off the Dyke should they need to discontinue their section of the walk. Apart from the team walking the entire way from north to south with Daphne, all other walkers joining any part of the prayer walk are responsible for organising their own transport to and from the Dyke.
